Apple's next generation Apple TV that is supposed to replace the cable box has come to a halt reports Bloomberg. Apparently the cable companies do not want Apple to get a piece of the TV business. This is of course understandable, but keeps innovation away from consumers. Bloomberg sources say that major issues include user interface control and sales model. Obviously Apple wants to control the UI. This is part of Apple's product philosophy. They will never agree to a skinned iOS.
Here is a tip for Apple. Buy a cable company. This way Apple can enter the market with Apple TV setop boxes or TV as major differentiator luring away subscribers from other cable operators.
