CruxSKUNK Hits Kickstarter Goal and Will Go into Production

A device called the CruxSKUNK is on Kickstarter seeking funding of $90,000. The device is intended to be a keyboard case that transforms the iPad into a MacBook Air stock computing device complete with keyboard. The project raised over $180,000 meeting its goal.

The device is intended to be used on the iPad 2 and the new iPad. It's made from aircraft grade aluminum and is 6 mm thick making it one of the thinnest keyboards around for the iPad. It appears that the project will fund until October even though it has reached more than twice its goal. If you want one the cases you can back the project for $135 in get one when they ship.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
