Microsoft and HTC unveiled the first signature Windows Phones, the Windows Phone 8X and 8S by HTC. What the heck? I thought Nokia is Microsoft's favorite partner.
HTC made quite a splash with the unveiling of the first signature Windows Phones -Windows Phone 8X and Windows Phone 8S by HTC. The naming of these new Windows Phones is already a smack in the face of Nokia. So far we believed that Nokia, who bets the farm on Windows Phone 8 is Microsoft's favorite Windows Phone 8 partner. Turns out HTC has still some credit with Microsoft. Remember that HTC was there for Microsoft in the early days of Windows smartphones.

Nokia had already something to say about this. According to The Verge Nokia's Marketing Chief Chris Weber tweeted: "It takes more than matching color to match the innovation of the Lumia 920." That is right, the HTC Windows Phone 8X comes in funky colors, like the Nokia Lumia 920.
Chris Weber continued on Twitter: "Happy to add a new Signature to the Windows Phone ecosystem – behind the Lumia 920."
Nokia will have to fight HTC for shelve space at carriers or they are doomed. HTC said that they will have the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Windows Phone 8S at 150 carriers around the world starting in November.
The HTC Windows Phone 8X features a 4.3-inch display, 1.5Ghz Qualcomm S4 CPU, 16GB storage, 1GB RAM, 8MP camera, NFC and LTE. Compared to the Lumia 920, the HTC top of the line Windows Phone has a smaller screen, older Bluetooth standard and no wireless charging. Nokia has tough some advantages, but not much. If they make one mistake in pricing or availability they get toasted by HTC on the market place.
