MakerBot Industries has unveiled its latest desktop 3-D printer called the Replicator 2. This 3-D printer has a 100-micron layer resolution and to print large objects up to 410 cubic inches in volume. The device is designed to work with MakerBot PLA filament.
That filament is a renewable bio plastic that is strong and can make large objects without cracking or warping. The new printer promises to be 20 times faster than previous technology and includes software allow you to make 3-D objects. The printer will sell for $2199.
