Sony exhibits the Prototype-SR (SR stands for Substitutional Reality) head mounted display at the Tokyo Game Show 2012. The Prototype-SR HMD can mix real-time video and recorded video for a new breath taking entertainment experience. Kotaku's Tosh Nakamura had the chance to experience the Prototype-SR and it sounds amazing. He lost track of what is real and what is virtual reality during the demo.
Sony is still considering this a prototype, but I think they are on to something here. Sony could create a whole new way of experiencing movies and games with this camera enhanced HMD.
