Is Microsoft launching the pre-order of the highly anticipated Surface tablets today. The Verge spotted a banner ad on Gizmodo that advertises the Microsoft Surface Windows 8 tablet and invites to pre-order. Clicking on the ad takes you though to Bing search result page for: Surface Microsoftstore. One of the results is linking to the 10.6-inch Surface product page. The cached page (above) shows though only the place-holder price of $0.
Microsoft also launched the first Surface TV Ad . It makes sense that the Surface tablets would go on sale soon. As soon as the Surface goes on pre-order we know the price of course. This is the make or break point for Windows 8 tablets. The prices I have seen so far from other Windows 8 tablets are disappointing and will not challenge the iPad.
Microsoft fans can be happy now. The Microsoft Surface tablet is priced to take on the Apple iPad. The Surface RT Tablet with 32GB is selling for $499. More details.
