Designed for server systems
AMD has pulled the wraps off a new video card aimed specifically at the server environment. The new video card has dual GPUs and is called the FirePro S10000 Server Graphics card. The video card is aimed at use within the industry's most powerful HPC computers. AMD says that the graphics card is specifically engineered and designed for high-performance and accuracy in the Genetic Sequencing, Structural Mechanics and Reservoir Simulation markets among others.

The graphics card promises performance of 5.91 Tflops of peak single-precision and 1.48 Tflops of double-precision floating-point calculations. AMD says this video card is also ideal for virtual desktop infrastructure and workstation graphic deployments.
The card also uses error correcting code memory to help insure accuracy. Connectivity options include four mini DisplayPort and a single DVI connector. The car has 6 GB of GDDR5 memory and a 384-bit memory interface. The card supports memory bandwidth of 480 GB/s. Pricing for the video card is under $3600.
