When it comes to streaming video and TV services, Netflix is one of the most popular in all the world. Netflix has announced this week that the Sony PS3 is now the top platform for streaming its service globally. Netflix also says that the PS3 will now be its primary development platform.
Netflix added that it has more than 30 million streaming members globally. The PS3 is so popular for streaming Netflix content that the company reports the PS3 at times account for more viewing hours than the PC.
Netflix also notes that the PS3 is the only platform currently testing a new voice user interface called Max. There is no indication of when that voice user interface will be rolled out. All around the world Netflix users stream about 1 billion hours of TV shows and movies each month.
