"Binaural beats" refers to the technique of presenting your right & left ears with tones of different frequencies to generate simulated brainwaves.
States of mind included with the Brain Wave Generator software:
Delta: Deep sleep
Theta: Drowsiness (also first stage of sleep)
Alpha: Relaxed but alert
Beta: Highly alert and focused

I was at a friend's place in 1992 and was feeling very ill from having consumed too much alcohol. He handed me headphones connected to his PC, and all I heard was this weird throbbing hissing sound. About 15 minutes later I felt refreshed as if I had slept for hours. I used to make cassette tapes with binaural beats recorded on them to refresh myself between classes, to help fix morning hangovers, or before job interviews. This stuff really works!

The Donn Handicap may not be what it used to be, and it's certainly debatable whether it remains a legitimate Grade 1. But it sure was a great betting race...and isn't that, in fact, the most important thing? I'd take this race over those five horse true ...
