Reuters ran a story today about the launch of Microsoft Portable Media Player powered Gadgets in Europe in time for Christmas 2004.
iRiver (Reigncom Ltd.) and Creative will have personal video players ready to be sold in Sweden, UK and Denmark first and later in Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Prices range from $678.50-$739. There is no word on an US launch of Microsoft Portable Media Player devices for this year, which would be kind of strange.
The Creative players will be sold with 20 GB or 40 GB Hard Drives. AkibaLive has some details about the iRiver PMC-100 Player (see photo). It should feature 20GB HD and a 3.5" LCD Screen.
The press is headlining this announcement with iPod killer. See story on the Indepentent and also Slashdot.
