Forbes Magazine seems to be the first to publish a first person review of the current beta version of Google's new 1GB email service GMail.
The ability to store 1GB of email and search through it with Google Search technology is a killer-app. The article confirms that the search in emails works great and it is fast. Everybody who uses MS Outlook knows the pain to wait for the search to come back with results. And of course Outlook does not search within attachments. The Forbes article does not say if GMail searches in attachments, but I would assume so.

In other news a California Lawmaker is already trying to block Google's GMail because of Google's attempt to put contextual advertisement links in users emails. Well I see it this way: its free, nobody forces users to use GMail, so why is it such a big deal? Read story on Yahoo. Google has a store.
