16x DVD Burner from BenQ - DW1600

BenQ offers now a 16x DVD Writer that is also a Double Layer Recorder.

Back in October 8x (e.g.: PlexWriter PX-708A) was the fastest. Now 8 month later the bar has been raised to 16x. BenQ is not alone, Philips also has a 16x DVD Burner announced.

The new double layer recording that enables to record 8.4GB on a disk is still slow with 2.4x speed. See also the Sony DRU700 Double Layer DVD Burner.

Product Information about the BenQ DW1600 is only on the European Site of BenQ available. HardwareZone has already a review of the BenQ DW1600. The price in Europe is around $150 and ships in July.
