As we reported, Archos has released their new AV400 series with the introduction of the AV420 (20GB) as a worldwide exclusive on QVC UK.
Now CNET has published a probably the first Review of the new Archos av400. The review also features a video, where CNET Editor Eliot Van Buskirk shows of the av400.
Quote:
"We've been waiting for the Archos AV400 with bated breath, and after playing around with it, we can safely say that portable TiVo has officially arrived."
Additionally Archos has now the product page up for the Archos av400 Pocket Video Recorder.

Somewhen the term how a digital personal video player is called need to be defined. Archos calls the Pocket Video Player/Recorder, other names for those devices are Personal Video Player, Portable Video Player, PVP and MP4 Video Player.
The Archos av400 features improved design, navigation, recording facilities, has inbuilt CF slot, cradle for connectivity and costs £405.24. Based on the QVC UK product page the Archos av400 measures 127mm by 82m by 21mm. The Archos av380 series only measures 112 x 82 x 31 mm. Somehow strange to go bigger. More details and photos on QVC UK. Archos showed the Archos av500 at the CeBit 2004. So the av400 is somehow maybe an interim version. |
