Nintendo makes big waves today in the news with the annoucement of their Nintendo DS ad campaign for the USA.
Apparently the TV and print ad campaigns feature have a sexy attitude to appeal to the Maxim Magazine reading young man. The new Nintendo Slogan "Touching is Good" will be featured by a sexy female voices in the TV commercial and a great looking model will feature the Nintendo DS in print ads telling guys how to score. This is a far cry from little Mario. And that is why it is going to work. Already tons of news outlets picked up the Reuter's Story. It also makes sense from a competive stand point. The Sony PSP will appeal more to young adults and not to kids. Nintendo can block out market share because of the early mover advantage. See also the Japanese Nintendo DS commercials.
More details in Reuters Story.
