Toshiba further stratigically moves their HD DVD format ahead with the introduction of a HD DVD disc that also can store today's DVD format.
Together with Memory-Tech Corp. Toshiba developed a dual-layered surface that can hold both formats. The Combo disc will be able to stroe 4.7 GB in the current format and 15 GB in high resolution format. a Full HD DVD can hold 30GB.
The competing Sony backed Blu-Ray DVD standard has had a set-back with several Hollywood studios pledging support for HD-DVD a couple of days ago.
