Sony somewhat quietly announced new Mini-DV Camcorders that will come to the
market in February 2005 on their Europe site.
The press-release says that the Sony DCR-PC55E and DCR-PC53E are only
slightly bigger than the mini-DV cassette they use. Both camcorders have a 3
inch touch screen display. They also can record to Memory Stick DUO. Both feature a 10X Optical
Zoom capability through a Carl Zeiss Lens. Besides that the press-release is
pretty sparse on specifications. It also talks about a upcoming DVD Handycam
dubbed DCR-DVD7.
