Sony PSP Delayed for Europe until June

Amazon UK, so far the only indicator when the Sony PSP will be available in Europe changed the shipping date again. The current shipping date is June 24th 2005 (first seen on Gizmodo).

There is a statement (French) from Sony to AFP, a French news agency, where the Chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment France, George Fornay says that the demand for the PSP is so high that they need to delay the European Sony PSP launch to have enough PSPs for the USA and Japan. This Sony statement does not mention the June date, but talks about several month delay.

We reported in February that Amazon UK changed the Sony PSP shipping date on its pre-order page from March 18th to April 29th. Now it looks like European Sony PSP fans have to wait until Summer to play the Sony PSP.

I live in Germany and I got my Sony PSP (Sony PSP Photos) already from Japan at AudioCubes for $279.00 (~220 Euros).

The Sony PSP Bundle is available for Pre-Order at Amazon.com ($449.99). More PSP deals in our Sony PSP Center.
