Sharp announces a new version of its Zaurus Linux PDA line.
The Zaurus SL-C3100 follows the SL-C3000. Obvious change is the color. The SL-C3000 is white while The SL-C3100 sports black. After the Sony PSP appeared more and more gadgets are black again and shun the Apple iPod white.
The SL-C3100 is more of a new packaging with slight changes compared to the SL-C3000 we reviewed last year than a new version.
Sharp promotes the support of TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) as a major new thing for the SL-C3100. Also Golf lessons are featured. Well it is clear that the SL-C3100 will not be sold outside of Japan, which is also sadly true for the SL-C3000.
Besides that the screen is still the same and the PDA also features a 4GB drive. No pricing is mentioned yet, but the new Sharp goes on sale in Japan on June 24th.
More details in Sharp press-release (Japanese).
Sharp announced in March a slimmed down version of the Linux PDA without a 4GB hard-drive called the Zaurus SL-C1000.
