SPOnG reports that UK retail sources indicate that Sony is slashing the Sony PS2 prices for this Christmas season to try to give the Microsoft XBox 360 a harder time.
The prices for the slim PS2 should be at £60 or about $100. Additionally Sony plans major PS2 game releases to grab
attention.
Will this work? It maybe can distract some consumers from jumping to the next generation system. At least it means for Microsoft to turn on the really big marketing wheel, which they anyway are going to do.
Right now the slim Sony Playstation 2 sells for $149.00 in the US.
