Update 11/15/05:
Circuit City clarifies Early Xbox 360 offer
Circuit City posted on their site that the Microsoft Xbox 360 is available Friday 2pm EST. That information is enough to start a wild-fire of reports on the web, and we have not seen the full extend
of it yet, as the information just started to spread.
So is this a clever marketing ploy from Circuit City or for real? The discussions on Joystiq have different answers to this question. Some comments are from people who claim to work for Circuit City. Most of them claim that the Xbox 360 will not be on sale this Friday. Maybe customers can buy vouchers and pick up their Xbox 360 on Launch Day (November 22nd). Some also called the Circuit City hotline. The
Circuit City reps claim that the Xbox 360 will be on sale this Friday.
I believe they will offer Xbox 360 Vouchers or pre-orders. It is not reasonable that Circuit City would be able to break Microsoft's official launch date for the Xbox 360. Either way, it is great marketing for Circuit City. This story will be on tons of sites today.
Circuit City is also just offering Xbox 360 bundles. The Xbox 360 Premium Gold package includes a premium Xbox 360, additional wireless controller, universal remote,
Project Gotham Racing 3 and
Need for Speed: Most Wanted. It sells for $589.95.
The Platinum package adds 64MB memory,
Madden NFL 2006 and
Perfect Dark Zero. Price for this Xbox 360 package is $739.92.
Circuit City is also offering two bundles with the Xbox 360 core system.

Circuit City is apparently getting some serious competition this holiday season from Wal-mart. Wal-mart is now offering extended warranties. Business Week reports that the real earning engine at Circuit City and for that matter also at Best Buy is the sale of extended Warranties.
So I guess Circuit City will offer you for sure an extended Warranty for you Xbox 360.
