Japanese Nintendo DS fans only can buy a white Nintendo DS Lite on March 2nd. Nintendo postponed the launch of the ice blue and enamel navy models until March 11th.
Reasons for the delay are apparently production quality issues. Japanese consumers like special editions and colors. So I guess many will wait until the other choices are available.
Demand for the new 'cooler' Nintendo DS Lite is high in Japan and stores stopped taking pre-orders according to GamesIndustry.

There is still no word on when the Nintendo DS Lite is going to be available outside of Japan.
