E3 2009 Booth Babes Photo Galleries
Topic: E3 News Coverage
As reported earlier E3 2009 was a success. Besides great announcements like Natal, the PSPgo and PS3 Motion Controller there have indeed been Booth Babes. Yes the E3 girls are back, but not as super sexy as they were in 2006.
G4TV actually had visitors vote for the Viewer's Choice E3 2009 Booth Babe. Kelly Brannigan won. See the video here.
Below we have put together a list of galleries featuring E3 2009 Booth Babes. The photo above is taken from the fine Spike E3 Booth Babes gallery.

E3 2009 was a Hit
Topic: E3 News Coverage
The Entertainment Software Association closed the annual E3 Expo yesterday and announced the dates for E3 2010. Next year E3 will run later in the month starting on June 15th and closing on June 17th. The ESA also reported that the 2009 E3 show was a hit.
Over the two day expo over 41,000 attendees from 78 countries attended the show. That is a big change from 2007 when the show sucked royally and there were like 5 of us there. At this year's show there were 216 exhibitors. Read more

Heavy Rain E3 Gameplay Video Out
Topic: E3 News Coverage
As you might have guessed, we're just a little bit excited about Quantic's new game Heavy Rain. It features stunning next-generation graphics, voice acting that (from what we can tell) is top-shelf quality, and a badass high-tech murder mystery. Well now we've got an actual gameplay video from E3 to go along with all of the hype. I've got to say, it looks awesome.
It's a big relief to see that the in-game graphics are as impressive as we'd hoped. Before now all that we'd seen were cut-scenes and cinematic videos, and you can't judge how good a game will look by that alone.

Wii Classic Controller Pro: Coming to U.S?
Topic: E3 News Coverage
The only problem with the awesome Wii Classic Controller Pro is that you can't really get one outside of Japan. It fills a great gaming niche (some of us love old fashioned button-filled controllers), but there's never been enough demand in this country to make stepping up production worthwhile for Nintendo. At least not until now.
While wandering the floor at E3, Joystiq caught site of a pair of Classic Controller Pro's sitting around on display. When asked, none of the Nintendo employees had any idea why the controllers were there or what they meant. Nintendo didn't announce a U.S. release during their conference, but that doesn't really mean very much.

Project Natal Hands-On Video Out
Topic: E3 News Coverage
The boys at Engadget became the objects of jealous rage across the tech community today when they posted up a video and a lengthy report about their hands-on demo with project Natal. While Microsoft wouldn't let them show any pictures of the prototype motion sensor they did give Engadget a chance to play a few games on the new device.
Based on their first impressions, we can confirm that the Natal works almost as well as Microsoft's hype-filled video demos lead us to believe. Engadget said that the Natal's ability to create an avatar that follows your exact motions was 'more than a little eerie'. They didn't get to check out the new gadget's ability to scan-in real world items, but at least we have confirmation that Microsoft's new baby is the best motion capture device out there.

Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft: An E3 Comparison
Topic: E3 News Coverage
The most visible events of the E3 electronics expo have concluded. The Big Three have finished their press conferences, made their big reveals, and now all we can do is sit back and analyze. An E3 press conference is a company's statement to the world about where they are heading in the future. It is a combination of a press release, a super bowl ad, and a lure to investors. So what do the three big press conferences tell us about the future of gaming? It depends on which conference you're talking about.
Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all recognize that casual gamers are what drives the industry these days. The success of the Wii, and especially the Wii Fit board, are proof positive of this. Sure, Nintendo's press-conference was subdued, low-key and, dare we say, a little boring. None of that matters when you're showing 19% growth while the rest of the industry is in decline. Nintendo could afford to put on a mellow E3 because the people they are trying to impress have never even heard of it.

Microsoft's Project Natal: Visionary or Vaporware?
Topic: E3 News Coverage
If E3 is all about generating 'buzz', then Microsoft is the clear winner this year. In the few days since its announcement Project Natal has generated more hype than any announcement the console gaming industry has seen in years. It's not hard to see why; the technology Microsoft promised us is far beyond anything we've ever seen. Plus, it's been a while since the last major console was announced.
I'm as excited about Natal's potential as everyone else, but I'm also feeling pretty skeptical at the moment. Now that the excitement of Microsoft's star-studded blockbuster E3 conference has faded it's possible to look at Project Natal a bit more rationally. Microsoft has promised us the moon, but can they deliver it?

Final Fantasy XIV: Online announced for 2010
Topic: E3 News Coverage
Yesterday during the Sony E3 conference the gaming giant announced the development of a new title in the massively successful Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy XIV will be the next online Final Fantasy game, taking the series in a futuristic, sci-fi direction.
Sony gave us a massive gameplay video during their presentation, which showed off some truly awesome special effects. There were some fantastic aircraft battles and, of course, the obligatory giant tentacled monster. I didn't catch any Chocobos (or Biggs and Wedge for that matter) but I think we can rest assured that all of the classic Final Fantasy elements will be in attendance.

PlayStation 3 Motion Controller: Spring 2010
Topic: E3 News Coverage
It looks like a big wand with a glowing purple ball on the end. According to the Sony techs, the PlayStation EyeToy tracks the big glowing ball in order to capture your motion as you play. From the demo we are seeing, the Eye is capable of replacing the control in the virtual world with things like baseball bats, guns, and even a laser whip.
Sony is very excited about the artistic potential of their new motion controller. The new controller is capable of capturing even tiny little motions so that you can draw or write your name with a fairly high degree of accuracy. We also got to see them use a spray paint cannister (which they had to shake up before using) and 'tag' a brick wall.

Final Fantasy 7: Out today on the PlayStation Network
Topic: E3 News Coverage
Moments ago, Sony announced that more than 50 classic PlayStation 1 games were being put up for download on the PlayStation Network. One of those new games is out today; Final Fantasy 7 is back.
FF7 is one of the most successful role-playing games in history, and original copies of the PS1 game routinely sell online for more than their old retail price. Now fans of the legendary Square classic can play their favorite game once more.

PSP Go: October 1st Release, $249 Price Tag
Topic: E3 News Coverage
Sony just announced the cost and release date of their new PSP Go, the "worst kept secret of E3". Little they announced was a surprise, thanks to early leaks, but now we know when the Go will hit and how much it will cost. We did learn a few new things about the Go, and here they are.
