Sony officially announced today the Rolly music gadget in Japan. A teaser for the mysterious egg-shaped device appeared end of August.
Sony describes Rolly (SEP-10BT) as a combination of robot and sound technologies. Rolly offers users a new way of interacting with consumer electronics.
Rolly only has a power button and a play button. All other functions are done by twisting or rolling the gadget. Rolly can also move to the played music.
The small device created surround sound with the two integrated speakers. Other features of Rolly include 1GB flash memory, Bluetooth, ATRAC and MP3 music file format support and USB.
The measurements of Rolly are approximately 65mm in diameter, 104mm in length and the weight is approximately 300g.
The Sony Rolly will be available on September 29th in Japan at a price of 40,000 Yen. (~$352).
