On Monday iPhoneSimFree released their $99 iPhone unlocking software. Yesterday the open source hacking community released a free iPhone unlocking software dubbed iUnlock.
Gizmodo hosts the iUnlock files, as apparently the iPhone Dev Teams server is under heavy load.
iUnlock seems to work fine according to reports on Gizmodo and Engadget. See also the is report on Engadget about the story behind iUnlock.
With a free Apple iPhone unlock hack that is software based, the exclusive AT&T deals and future European exclusive deals are bascially dead in the water. Is Apple finally reacting?
