Toshiba announces a new PC LCD monitor with the record breaking resolution of 3,840x2,400 pixels.
The Toshiba QUXGA-W LCD monitor is 22.2 inches with a pixel pitch of 0.1245mm (200dpi), it is comparable to photo paper.
Other features of the still unnamed super hi-res monitor are 235cd/m2 brightness, 300:1 contrast ratio, and 120 degrees FOV. These specs are actually not that great. I'm not sure if this monitor is of any use to gamers or if it is aimed more at very specific industrial uses.
Another argument against you having this QUXGA-W resolution LCD monitor in your room anytime soon is the high price of around $17,000.
