The Apple iPhone launched in France last night and about 1,000 iPhone fans lined-up on Champs-Elysées to get their hands on one of the first iPhones in France.

The guys over at Le Journal du Geek (French) have shot some nice photos. What is striking is that all the Orange shop girls are very good looking (at least the two shown in the photos) - that is France for you.

France apparently has more enthusiasm for the iPhone than the UK and Germany.

The iPhone plans on Orange start at 49 Euro per month (~$73). The unlocked iPhone sells for 749 Euros (~$1,110) (649 iPhone price + 100 Euro unlocking fee). With contract the iPhone sells for 399 Euro (~$591). Via the Orange site.
