Orb announced yesterday that it's software would allow users of the iPhone and the iPod Touch to synchronize music to their devices without needing iTunes. Orb allows owners of the iPhone and iPod Touch to play PC music from anywhere they have a WiFi connection.

The Orb application is free and works on Windows PCs. The software also allows you to send text messages to friends with links to your PC.

"With Orb, you can rock the inbox of your friends' iPhones... and any other phone with a Web connection and streaming media player," said Ian McCarthy, VP of Product Marketing at Orb. "Don't just text about the music. Share the experience of the music."
