Asus has apparently already shipped 350,000 Asus Eee PCs, exceeding the company’s estimates by 50,000 units.
Asus really uses its first mover advantage very well. Also interesting is the fact that this means 350,000 Linux end user computers are going to be in customer’s hands. This really starts to be a big issue for Microsoft to battle those low-cost Linux notebooks and PCs in 2008.
Asus is also starting to get ready for the Eee PC to ship from Best Buy. The Eee PC is also slated to start shipping in Japan early next year. More details on Digitimes.
In Gemany the Asus Eee PC has been delayed until January.
The Asus Eee 8G PC I ordered directly from Taiwan got stuck in customs. I guess I will not see it until next year. I live in Germany, which is why I had to order direct from Asia. In the U.S. the Asus Eee 8G is available from NewEgg for instance.
