The KVM is capable of supporting resolutions of up to 3840 x 2400. That means that users of 30-inch LCD displays running 2560 x 1600 will have a KVM that takes full advantage of the large screen resolution.
In addition to supporting high resolution, the KVM switch also supports 7.1 surround sound as well. "IOGEAR has consistently been an innovator in the KVM space, and the launch of our new Dual-Link DVI KVMP & MultiMedia Switch provides audio and video buffs with the support they need to enjoy high-definition movies and surround-sound in their living rooms," said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR. "As the computer continues to become the key component in a home's media center, we recognize the need to introduce offerings that enhance its use for both work and play."
The new KVM is offered in a two port design only and supports USB peripherals like external hard drives as well. The switch will be available in February at an MSRP of $399.99.
