Corel announced today that its Corel Software Suite has been chosen by Canon to ship with the Canon consumer HG10 and HR10 AVCHD camcorders. The software suite includes Ulead DVD MovieFactory and Corel WinDVD.

The software gives fast access to the most popular functions in a unique GuideMenu for editing and making videos. The software will allow users of the Canon camcorders to edit video and then write it back to the camcorder or to a DVD.

"The Canon HG10 and HR10 AVCHD camcorders are a perfect example of the strong trend towards bringing high-definition video capture to the masses," said Jeff Hastings, President and General Manager, Digital Media at Corel.
