TGDaily reports that they have information that Microsoft is moving up the release date of the Windows Vista successor into the second half of 2009.
If this is true, Vista would be pretty short lived because most users did not even switch to it and still run Windows XP.
The Milestone 1 (M1) code of Windows 7 (aka Blackcomb and Vienna) has shipped to partners.
In October Microsoft gave a brief glimpse at Windows 7 and showed a
stripped down Windows Kernel that Microsoft calls MinWin. This could be the most interesting aspect of a new Windows, offering a robust and thin platform to adjust to the situation that the computer is in the Internet and not on your desk anymore.
More details on TG Daily. The Wikipedia entry for Windows 7 has also already been updated with this new release date.
