ASUS Introduces new Eee PC 900 at CeBIT

ASUS showed off a new version of its very popular Eee PC at CeBIT called the Eee PC 900. The Eee 900 has a 8.9-inch display and uses an Intel mobile chipset and CPU. The 900 runs Linux OS, but can run Windows XP as well like the currently available 701.

Communication options for the 900 include 10/100 Ethernet and a 56K modem. Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11b/g is included as well. Internal memory for the system is 1GB DDR2-400 and graphics are handled by Intel UMA.
Storage capacity for the Eee PC 900 is up to 12GB of flash and the system includes an integrated 300k webcam. Audio from the new machine is Hi-Definition Audio CODEC and the machine has built-in speakers and a mic. The new Eee systems will be available in the UK and other select countries this year at 399 Euro each. Whether or not the U.S. is one of the select countries that will see this version of the Eee is unknown.
