Sony launches in May a 20GB HDD MP3 Player.

The Sony Vaio Pocket VGF-AP1 20GB MP3 Player weighs 195g, measures 115.2mmx63.3mm×17.2mm and a battery-life of 20hours playback. It has a USB 2.0 interface.

Update 07/07/04: AudioCubes sells 20GB Sony VGF-AP1 for $539.00.

The VGF-AP1 features a 2.2" color screen and what Sony calls G-Sense. Some kind of input button grid, it lets users scroll through the file lists by moving the finger over the grid of buttons. Kind of interesting idea.

Overall though it does not look that hot with the dark grey case, Maybe it looks better in reality. See the Vaio Pocket Web-Site (japanese).

Sony announced two more VAIO products under their new theme Do VAIO. The Sony VAIO VGN-U50, a keyboardless Windows XP Notebook and the VGC-V201 a new version of Sony's PC-in-the-Flat-Screen line. More in Sony Press-Release (japanese).
