Texas Instruments has introduced the first WUXGA DLP chip for use in projectors that can produce images at a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 at 16:10 aspect ratio. This is the same screen resolution commonly seen on 24-inch LCDs.

The projector runs on the DLP .95 chip and is the first to offer the 1920 x 1200 resolution. "While 1080p has been widely regarded as the top shelf standard for resolution quality and use for video-centric applications like HDTVs, we recognized that select businesses could stand to benefit more with pixel qualities that surpassed even that of 1080," said Anders Lokke, International Marketing & Communications Manager at projectiondesign. "WUXGA is incorporated inside our F10 WUXGA and F30 WUXGA projectors. This was something that our high-end visualization and simulation customers were asking for and we are proud to be the first to introduce and to deliver it to the market."

While the extra resolution won’t be beneficial to home theater users where 1080p is the maximum that is needed, for data applications the 1920 x 1200 is great. This projector would also be fantastic for PC gaming where a resolution of 1920 x 1200 is commonly used.
