On Friday we reported that the service name Mobile Me has been discovered in the latest iPhone SDK. Today rumors appeared that Apple got their hands on the cool me.com domain.

To use "Me" would make a lot of sense for Apple's services currently known as .Mac. Mobile Me would then be the version that is tailored to iPhone use.
Apple is close to Google and if Apple managed to create communication services that are easy to use and take our data to the next level, Microsoft and RIM will have to battle Apple on a new battle field. Apple's .Mac is not on anyone’s radar right now. This could change on June 9th.
