Sony has a long history of making small notebooks. Just remember the VAIO U series Windows XP PDA from 2004. The small Sony notebooks have always been very expensive. Today the IDG News Service published a story about an encounter at the WiMAX Expo that could mean Sony is going to join the new Asus Eee created low-cost mini notebook space.
Quanta showed at the WiMAX Expo a VIA Openbook based notebook prototype that had Sony listed as manufacturer in the properties.
The potential Sony mini Notebook would run on a 1.6GHz C7-M processor from Via.

As reported last week Dell is also set to release a low-cost mini Inspiron notebook. HP already released their mini 2133.
