Circuit City has conducted a survey of dads to find out what exactly they want for Father’s Day. I am here to tell you that a tie or coffee cup doesn’t make the list. The survey said that 75% of dads feel a GPS would make the quality of a family road trip better.
The survey showed that 30% of dads thought a portable DVD player was important, 27% thought laptops were important, 24% said MP3 players, 23% said handheld games and 20% said upgraded car stereos. I guess we can assume the items ranked as important are the items dads want as gifts.
"There's no doubt about it, enhanced electronics are now an essential part of the American automotive experience," said Irynne MacKay, Circuit City's senior vice president and general merchandise manager for entertainment and mobile products. "Dads and moms count on electronics not only to help them find their way, but also to entertain the family on a trip."
