Acer, the third largest PC vendor enters the low-cost mini notebook segment with the Acer Aspire One.
The Acer Aspire One is an Intel Atom based mini notebook with 8.9-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display at 1024x600px resolution.
Other features of the Aspire One include 512MB or 1GB of RAM, Acer CrystalEye webcam, 8GB SSD or 80GB HDD and multi-format media card reader.
The Acer Aspire One ships with either Linpus Linux Lite or Windows XP.
The new Aspire one will be available in early Q3 through Acer authorized resellers and selected retailers throughout North America, with pricing beginning at US$379. This price point is quite low, but Q3 is still a long time away. Asus is expected to ship the Atom based Asus Eee 901 in June already.
