Eidos has announced the ship date for the next Tomb Raider installment called Tomb Raider: Underworld at E3. The game will ship simultaneously for the Xbox, PS3, Wii, PS2, Nintendo DS, and PC. Eidos promises this game will take players on greater challenges than previous Tomb Raider games.
The game centers on Lara Croft finding proof of the hammer of the Norse God Thor that supposedly has the power to crush mountains. The versions for the Wii and DS will have exclusive features not found on the other systems. The Wii version will feature a compressed air gun that allows searching in hidden areas.
"Tomb Raider: Underworld takes the franchise to places it has not yet been, in terms of action, visual fidelity, technical achievement, and overall fun," commented Robert Lindsey, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Eidos Inc. "Tomb Raider has never looked, acted or played so life-like before; built for next generation systems, and next generation gamers, Lara Croft will traverse massive, detailed, environments, with all the skills and abilities she would have in real life."
