Yesterday we reported about a leaked Asus Eee PC Roadmap that contained tons of new Asus Eee PC models split in three categories Smart Casual, Pro Fashion, and Ultimate. The currently available Asus Eee PC netbooks are in the Smart Casual Category.
Digitimes has now received word directly from Asus President Jerry Shen that Asus is going higher end with the Asus Eee PC with new Eee PCs in the Pro Fashion and Ultimate category.
The new Asus Eee PC Ultimate and Asus Eee PC Pro Fashion line will still be launched in 2008.
In September Asus will release a 32GB SSD equipped 10 inch Asus Eee 1000 with a price point of $700-$900.

From the leaked roadmap we expect 23 Asus Eee PCs to likely go on sale this year.
The Pro Fashion category contains new Asus Eee PCs with the 1000HV, 1002SA, 1002HA, and T101.
The Asus Eee PC Ultimate category contains the S101 and S91 Asus Eee PCs.

It will be interesting to see if Asus will stick to Windows XP and Linux on the high end Netbooks or will actually try to run Windows Vista on them.
The Asus Eee PC line-up is definitely confusing with 23 models, but the more I think about it Asus might be on to something here. The momentum of the Eee PC is huge and by spreading to all levels of the notebook market the company could grab significant market share away from Windows notebook makers and also Apple.
