Last holidays when Amazon introduced the Kindle eBook reader it was very quickly sold out. Amazon continued to heavily promote the Kindle device on their site despite having none in stock until April.
Amazon never revealed how many Kindle ebook reader they put on sale for the holidays and also until now has not officially released any sales numbers of Kindle.
TechCrunch has now reported that they heard from an insider that Amazon has sold 240,000 Kindle eBook reader so far.
This number is not that bad, but it is also not saying that Kindle is a runaway success.
Amazon has announced today that there are 145,000 ebooks (books, magazines and
newspapers) available now for Kindle.
Since May Amazon.com sells Kindle for the reduced price of $359.
