Delta Electronics has unveiled the development of a fully LED backlit projector for the consumer market. The projector uses Delta's high throughput LED optics and can display full 1080p resolution. The image quality promises to be higher than other projectors on the market.
The big benefit of using LEDs is the lamp life -- 20000 with normal operation. The projector uses DLP technology and is being shown for the first time at IFA in Berlin. It is unknown when the projector will be available for purchase and what the price will be.
"The viewing experience is amazing. The image quality of the projector's full HD resolution plus saturated color and dynamic contrast is extremely impressive. With this product, we believe the era of the LED projector has arrived. Home theater projectors are just the beginning," said Jeff Fu, Director for Projection Display at Delta's Display Solutions Business Unit.
