The legendary Jim Henson Company (creator of the Muppets) has developed a new very cool and efficient digital puppetry technology that is behind the new Sid the Science Kid series to debut today on PBS Kids.
The Jim Henson Company is partnering with KCET, the PBS West Coast flagship station, to produce "Sid the Science Kid," a new educational television series. The animated series uses the Henson Digital Performance Studio, a proprietary technology that allows puppeteers to perform digital characters in real time creating a more spontaneous and fresh result.

The new technology save tons of time and money compared to computer rendered 3D animated series.
