High-Tech Swim Suits: JetConcept, Aqua Shift and Fastskin FSII

MaterialSpieler (a I4U Network Site) reports about new high-tech swim-suits.
The predominant swimwear of this year’s Olympic Games is reminiscent of the look sported by Olympians in the old days. But while the heroes who swam in the Bay of Zea near Piraeus in 1896 had to adhere to social conventions, today's athletes wear full body suits for speed.
The Adidas JetConcept worn by Australian Ian Thorpe has grooves quite similar to those used on commercial airplane wings. These ripplets positioned on the back and gluteus maximus reduce form drag and friction drag, resulting in up to 3% improvement of swimming performance according to Adidas.
