Despite the huge competition of new netbooks Asus is has shipped 700,000 Eee netbooks in September according to the Commerical Times newspaper.
The Chinese newspaper continues saying that Asus has shipped 1.7m Eee netbooks in the 3rd quarter and that level is expected to be met in the strong Holiday Sales Quarter.

Currently the Acer Aspire One leads the sales charts on Amazon.com.
