Crucial has unveiled a new set of RAM for gamers and PC enthusiasts called Ballistix Tracer DDR3. The RAM operates at 1333MHz and is PC3-10600 with low latency. Crucial says that the RAM is the first to offer activity indication LED lights.
The RAM is aimed at users who want high performance and flashy looks and is perfect for users with windowed cases or modders looking for something to add flash to a computer. The PCB is black and in addition to LEDs along the top of each RAM module, there are eight blue LEDs near the RAM socket for a constant glow. Kits of 2GB or 4GB as well as individual 1GB or 2GB sticks will be offered.
“Our Crucial Ballistix Tracer modules deliver cutting edge, solid performance while adding a touch of style to any gaming or enthusiast system,” said Jeremy Mortenson, Lexar Media’s senior DRAM product marketing manager. “Enthusiasts are going to love our killer new lighting effects scheme that adds more LED placements along the memory module for an even more impressive—and functional—design.”
