EA's The Sims franchise is a casual game that appeals to gamers of all ages and sexes. In fact, The Sims is one of the biggest selling franchises in all of video games, which is saying a lot. EA announced that gamers could now pre-order The Sims 3 at several retailers in America.

EA also says that The Sims 3 Collectors Edition will be in stores on February 20, 2009. The special edition will include the game along with a 2GB The Sims Plumbob USB drive, tips, hints and a bonus European-style sports car for in game use. The game promises the most freedom and customization of any The Sims game yet.

EA says the game lets players customize everything they see and challenge themselves with short and long-term goals. Players can take their character from a sports fan to a sports legend and more. One interesting feature is a new open neighborhood that players can explore.
