iBreath Breathalyzer and FM Transmitter for iPod

This may well be the strangest accessory for iPod I have seen. The device is called the iBreath iPod Breathalyzer and FM Transmitter. The gadget does just what it says and will check your breath and tell you if you have had a few too many to drive. It also broadcasts your tunes to your FM radio on unused frequencies.

To use the breathalyzer portion of the gadget you blow into a blow wand for at least five seconds. After blowing, it takes two seconds to get the results and find out if it is safe for drinkers to drive. A timer is integrated to tell drivers when they can drive again that can be set from 1 minute to 8 hours. The gadget costs $79.

"The idea of an iPod compatible breathalyzer is terrific; especially for people who like to have a drink or two after work. It can't be any easier than blowing in the tube and looking at the sensor. I can really see these things saving lives," said Joseph Melilo, a retired New York police officer.
