Hamacher Schlemmer offers the classic Bavarian Zipfel Bobsled that is very common in Germany.
Invented by Johann Uttenthaler in 1969 the small bobsled is even used in world series competitions these days. Now you can try this cool high speed sled in Lake Tahoe yourself.
You sit with the joystick-like handle between your extended legs. The Bavarian Zipfel bobsled (it is really has that funny name in Germany too: "Zipfelbob") glides in a straight line on downhills, thanks to two molded rails on the underside of its slightly concave, high-density polyethylene frame that also allow you to make slalom-like turns in either groomed snow or fresh powder simply by leaning.
Stopping is as simple as digging your heels in the snow.
The Bavarian Zipfel Bobsled is not only for kids fun on the slopes. Hammacher and Schlemmer sells the Bavarian Zipfel Bobsled for $39.95.
