Sony rumored to see major Cost Cuts

Sony is having troubles yet again. The PS3 sales sucked this holiday season and of course the economic crisis is also not help sell high-end TVs. The Times reports now that their sources tell them about major cost cuts across the whole Sony corporation including some "sacred cow slaying".
The restructuring plans are seen as far to late by analysts and are supposed to be announced after the CES 2009.
It is clear that something has to happen at Sony. It will be not an easy task to find the right directions. Every product category is highly competitive and Sony is not alone offering stylish high tech.
Samsung and LG have become basically as good as Sony and often offer their gear at more affordable pricing.
The Sony Walkman has lost to the Apple iPod and the Sony PS3 gets eaten alive by the Wii and the Xbox 360.
